Just in time for Women’s History Month, the W.I.T.H Conference will feature female pioneers of tourism who have broken glass ceilings in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
The third annual Women in Tourism & Hospitality (WITH) National Conference, presented by MCCSN, WITH, and East Point Convention and Visitors Bureau will be held during Women’s History Month at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, San Diego, CA., March 28-29, 2024. The conference theme, “Empowering, Celebrating and Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders” perfectly captures the 2024 conference goals: to inspire, connect, build, and support women in all hospitality sectors, at all stages in their careers, and in all aspects of their lives.
This two-day conference promises exclusive access to resources, exhibitors, experts, and world-renowned speakers for professional and skills development. There are interactive workshops, roundtable discussions, networking sessions and more. One highlight of this year’s event is the first-ever Student and Youth Professional Development Day, scheduled for Thursday, March 28th which will provide exclusive opportunities for mentorship, professional development, and networking with key leaders in the industry.
Recent studies show that the tourism sector still suffers from a lack of diversity and female representation in leadership compared to that of the tourism sector overall, with one group reporting that women only hold 12% of leadership roles Another group reported, representation of women at the top levels of hospitality leadership continues to increase, with women gaining a small amount at the CEO and president levels Women now hold one in four of all chief-level positions at hotel companies.
