- Heavy metal combo As I Lay Dying is embarking on a three leg world tour, With Latin America kicking off September 7 in Sao Paolo Brazil, Europe on September 27 in Liepzig, Denmark and North America on November 15 in Las Vegas. The tour includes a December 14 stop at SOMA.
- Former Point Loman and Chicago bassist Jason Scheff will be part of an all-star band, touring as It Was Fifty Years Ago Today: A Tribute to the Beatles’ White Album. No San Diego date has been announced yet, but Scheff’s band mates will include Joey Molland (Badfinger), Christopher Cross, Todd Rundgren, and Micky Dolenz (The Monkees). The tour opens September 21 in Atlantic City
- On September 21 Himmelbergs and San Diego Music League will host a four band, punk rock fundraiser for the non-profit Voices of the City Choir, an outreach program to help the homeless. On hand will be War Fever, Corporate Citizen, Gut Punch and Remain in Vein.
