I was out to lunch with a friend last week at a place on University Ave that I’ve never been before. Many years ago, when I first moved to North Park, there were only a few spots to dine, shop, or get a coffee. When a new place popped up, we were there within days of the opening-many of them are my go-to spots today.

Sitting in this awesome little cafe*, it occurred to me how complacent I’ve become. How I’ve taken all of the new and exciting places in North Park for granted. I’ve been going back to my reliable standards for years. i love North Park. I work here, my friends are here, I sell homes here… and I’m out of touch.

So i made a decision. In the month of September, I’m going to visit a North Park business every single day. Thirty days, thirty businesses (Restaurants, coffee shops, clothing and service providers.) And I’m going to drink beer. A lot of beer.

If you’re a business owner, give me a shout if you want me to come by your place. If you’re a loyal reader, check out The Kim Hawley Group  on Facebook at Facebook.com/KimHawleySD. or follow me on Instagram @kimhawleyrealestate. I’ll be posting daily and I’d love to have you along for the ride!!
*The cafe was Tostadas North Park, where I enjoyed my first Sandia Tostada and a cucumber/mint aqua Fresca. I’ve been thinking about this cafe ever since. I can’t believe it took me so long to find it and I can’t wait to go back!
