Japanese garage pop rock trio, Shonen Knife stop in at the Soda Bar on August 24. Formed in 1982, the band is touring behind their new album, Sweet Candy Power. It clearly shows that though the years have rolled on their music remains much the same, combining bubblegum sensibilities with Ra-mones tinged punk rock. The result is a terrific blast of harmony and hooks, short tunes that are as infectious as it gets. It doesn’t matter if you’ve heard them before, this is rock ‘n’ roll as it should be played, with an extra helping of fun.
