While not a Halloween event per se, Mac Sabbath’s show at the Casbah on October 29 certainly fits the bill. The costumed quartet’s gimmick, featuring four fast food mascot icons playing Black Sabbath covers with re-written song lyrics, now about fast food, is a lot of fun. Songs such as “Paranoid” are now “Pair-a-Buns” and so on. Though the costumes are slightly changed for obvious copyright reasons, the characters they parody are instantly reciognizable. The band are solid metal rockers, they really can play – but this is all about spectacle. It’s hard to top the sight of a tusked hamburger playing lead guitar.
