Japanese Story ( 2003)
Dir. Sue Brooks
Toni Collette portrays, Sandy Edwards, the owner of an Australian software company who is working on a business deal with a Japanese executive, Hiromitsu Tachibana. The businessman wants Edwards to give him a tour of the mines located in the Pilbara Desert of Australia. He treats her like a tour guide rather than a business colleague. Their vehicle gets stranded, there is a lack of cooperation between the two, but eventually they make their way out of a tense situation. This event changes their relationship and the rest of the story is too good to spoil. This is an incredibly well-acted film with a series of unpredictable events. This is a real Winnie’s pick!
