San Diego Local Community News

Riders of all abilities will join local bike experts for a two-day adventure at the fifth annual Kerry’s Ride. Dozens of participants will pedal 64 miles along the coastline from downtown San Diego toward North County San Diego and back; camping at South Carlsbad State Beach after day one.
The San Diego Bike Coalition will ride and camp along adventurers, showing them the ins and outs of bike touring among beautiful coastal sights.
The inclusive ride commemorates late Bike Coalition board member and bike-touring advocate Kerry Kunsman; although, who sadly passed away during a bike tour from Canada to Mexico.
This year, the two-day tour starts in downtown San Diego and travels north due to trains not running.
Kerry believed that anyone could — and should — try bike touring. This bike tour finishes Kerry’s ride home and honors his passion for making bike riding accessible to all. With the help of local bike experts, participants will discover the magic of Kerry’s passion; commuting and traveling by bike.
