Chef Scott Cannon

If you’re looking for an atypical dining adventure, there’s no better alternative than the “abnormal experience” at Rancho Bernardo’s Cork & Craft. Through its web site, guests select how many courses they prefer (between four and 10) and then enter the times and dates they wish to dine. From there, chef Scott Cannon devises a parade of dishes that diners generally won’t find on the regular dinner menu.
“We take into account dietary restrictions and food allergies—or if a guest really hates a particular ingredient,” said general manager Ginny Mitchell. “Otherwise, it’s the chef’s whim.”
For parties of eight or less, guests are seated at the chef’s table, which overlooks the open kitchen. Mitchell adds that the “abnormal experience” is available for two people or more. A four-course dinner starts at $59 per guest and goes up to $10 a person for each additional course. Beer pairings are $16 extra, and wine pairings are $22.
The Cork and Craft is located at 16990 Via Tazon. For more information call 858-618-2463 or visit www.thecorkandcraft.com
