1-year Anniversary Celebration of the opening of the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County’s clubhouse facility in La Mesa

Thursday, Oct. 3rd, 4 to 6 p.m. in La Mesa

WHERE: BGCEC’s Brady Family Clubhouse, 7600 Junior High Dr., La Mesa, 91941. The new clubhouse is located past a sports field on the west end of La Mesa Arts Academy (4200 Parks Ave., La Mesa, 91941), previously known as La Mesa Middle School, and at the south end of Olive Avenue.

WHEN: 4 p.m.

Several hundred people, including donors and elected officials, will attend a 1-year anniversary celebration, marking the first year of operation for the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County’s (BGCEC) 26,000-square-foot Brady Family Clubhouse,  which includes a 10,000-square-foot gymnasium named after Bill Walton (Bill is unavailable to attend)

Attending:

-La Mesa couple, Ron and Mary Alice Brady, who donated $3 million for the new clubhouse named in their honor.

-Forrest Higgins, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of East County.

-San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob.

-La Mesa Mayor Mark Arapostathis.


The Boys & Girls Clubs of East County, a chartered member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, has more than 2,000 members, ages 5 to 18, and operates five facilities, including: the Conrad Prebys Complex with the El Cajon Clubhouse, 1171 East Madison Ave., and El Cajon Teen Center, 1153 East Madison Ave., Lakeside Clubhouse, 12824 Lakeshore Dr., Brady Family La Mesa Teen Center, 7775 Junior High Dr. and Conrad Prebys Santee Clubhouse, 8820 Tamberly Way.
